Oppiedam Family Cabins Covid-19 Closure

Updated: Aug 18, 2021

Oppiedam Family Cabins, like many around the globe, was impacted by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, while the world went into extreme lockdown in an attempt to flatten the curve, we closed what was then known as Flamingo Lake’s doors to guests.

As we head towards the end of our second year of global travel restrictions and intermittent lockdowns, both locally and internationally, we are confident that as vaccines become more widely available and adopted, travel restrictions should ease and we hope to be able to welcome guests back to our beautiful part of the South African Whale Coast. In a country reliant on tourism to provide employment and stimulate the economy, we at Oppiedam Family Cabins have decided to try and play our small part in contributing to the local community and economy by reopening to the public.

Oppiedam Family Cabins are not quite ready to welcome our guests back just yet; we are refurbishing the cabin and garden, as well as ensuring our housekeeper is fully briefed on Covid-19 sanitising protocols and we’re 100% compliant with the best practices in safety in this regard.

We look forward to welcoming guests back early November 2021.

We hope to welcome you all back soon.
